Due to the fact that we are currently under a severe thunderstorm watch until at least 9:00 PM, we have no choice but to CANCEL Public Observing for Saturday May 25, 2019.
Our next General Meeting is Wednesday June 5th at 7:00 PM at the Lorain County Metro Parks Carlisle Visitors Center. The public is welcome. We will present a constellation of the month and an observers calendar for June to help people learn the sky and know what to see there, and Tim Kreja will present a program on the colonization of Mars.
Our next Public Observing session is scheduled for Friday June 7th from 10:00-12:00 Midnight at the Nielsen Observatory which is at the Carlisle Equestrian Center. See the "Maps" tab on this website for directions to either the Visitors Center or the Observatory. We hope to see you soon,

The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.
