We have CANCELLED Public Observing for Saturday June 29th. There is a 50% chance of thunderstorms and the National Weather Service is predicting 79% cloud cover during our scheduled observing time. It will also be very humid which will can create fog coming off the stream to the east. Combined, these factors spell poor observing at best.
Our next General Meeting is this Wednesday, July 3rd at 7:00 PM at the Carlisle Visitors Center. this meeting is open to the public and our speaker will be John O'Neal speaking on the sun. Please join us!
Our next scheduled Public Observing session is NEXT FRIDAY July 5th from 10:00-12:00 midnight at the Nielsen Observatory. Please see our "MAPS" tab here on our website for the observatory location. Come join us to see Saturn with it's rings shining gold in the night sky along with star clusters, nebulae and double stars. Saturday July 6th will be our back-up date if Friday is cloudy.
