This April, we have two public observing events. These are on Friday nights with the following night as our back-up in case it is cloudy or rainy on Friday. Please note that these are CLEAR SKIES ONLY events.
The first night is Friday, April 5th from 9:00-11:00. This is at the Nielsen Observatory at the Lorain County MetroParks Equestrian Center down Diagonal Road from the Carlisle Visitors Center. We have a map on the "Maps" tab on this website. Come join us to see the heavens through two 14 inch telescopes, as well as other scopes we will set up outside the observatory. Again, if it is cloudy on Friday, we will try for Saturday night at the same time.

Our second Public Observing event is Friday April 19th also at 9:00-1:00 also at the Nielsen Observatory with Sat. April 20th as our back-up night. Again, we would love to have you join us!

The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.
