The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.

public Observing CANCELLED for 3/25/'23
We have again been forced to CANCEL Public Observing for Saturday March 25, 2023 due to cloud cover and high winds. We are scheduled to do solar observing on Saturday April 1st at the Avon Lake Public Library on Electric Blvd from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, to the north of the tennis courts beside the library. Our next scheduled Public star party will be Friday April 14th with Saturday the 15th as our back-up date. Click on the "Maps" tab on the home page for directions. Our next monthly meeting is Wednesday April 5th at 7:00 at the Lorain County Metro Parks Carlisle Visitors Center. The "Maps" tab also has directions. The public is welcome at all of our events and there is no charge or pre-registratipon required.
