The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.

Public Observing CANCELLED for 3/26/'22
We have CANCELLED Public Observing for Saturday March 26, 2022 due to clouds and snow showers. Our next monthly meeting will be Wednesday April 6 at 7:00 at the Lorain County Metro Parks Carlisle Visitors Center on Diagonal Road in Lagrange Township. Our next scheduled Public Observing star party is Friday April 8, 2022 from 9:00-11:00 PM at the Nielsen Observatory with Saturday the 9th as our back-up date in case of clouds or rain. For directions to the observatory or the Visitors Center, click on the "Maps" tab on this website.
