We are OPEN for Public Observing tonight, Friday Aug.3, 2018 from 10:00-12:00 Midnight at the Nielsen Observatory. Mars, Saturn and Jupiter are all well placed for viewing tonight, along with other deep sky objects. Come enjoy the beauty of the night sky through our powerful telescopes.
Please click on the "Maps" tab on this website if you need directions or a map. There may be road work on Diagonal Road tonight. If coming from Parsons Rd, Diagonal Rd IS OPEN to the Equestrian Center where the observatory is located. If coming down Diagonal past the Carlisle Visitors Center, the detour is down Whitehead Rd to Parsons and then back on Diagonal.
Please park in the parking lot on the right and walk over to the building, as parking beside the building is for members unloading telescopes and equipment. Also, please watch for deer on the drive in.
