We have been forced to cancel Public Observing for tonight, Friday August 17, 2018 due to rain and solid clouds. The forecast for tomorrow is for a possible shower in the morning, then clearing with the afternoon sunny. If that forecast holds, we will observe tomorrow night from 10:00-12:00 midnight. The dust storm on Mars seems to be dissipating, so hopefully we will get a clearer look while Mars is so unusually close to Earth. It will be interesting to view Mars in the 4" f15 Unitron refractor, the 14' C14 and our various Dobs, to see how the view changes with each instrument. Jupiter and Saturn are also very well placed for viewing, so we hope members and the public can join us! As always, watch for deer on the drive in and out.
