We are OPENING the Nielsen Observatory tonight (Friday July 1, 2016) to members and the public from 10:00 PM until 12:00 Midnight. We hope to see Mars, Saturn and Jupiter as well as deep space objects. Please see use the "Maps" tab on the home page of this website for a map to the observatory plus directions. Please also watch out for deer on the drive in. Park in the parking lot on the right and walk over to the observatory. Parking beside the building is restricted to members unloading telescopes and heavy equipment. We hope you can join us!

The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.
