Public Observing at the Nielsen Observatory is ON for tonight, Saturday 7/28. The weather forecasts call for clear to mostly clear skies and temperatures in the low 70s to upper 60s. We will start at 10:00 PM and observe until midnight. Please join us.
Next Wednesday, 8/1, we have our monthly General Meeting at 7:00 at the Carlisle Visitors Center on Diagonal Road. We have a speaker from NASA who will talk about the role of Cleveland's NASA Glen Research Center to the space program. NASA Glen has had a hand in the new Mars Rover Curiosity which is expected to land on the red planet this Saturday. This will be the largest and most sophisticated robotic vehicle ever built and it's mission, among other things, is to search for life on Mars. THE PUBLIC IS WELCOME to hear our speaker and to enjoy the meeting. We hope to see you there!
The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.
