Hi, everybody, just a reminder that today is our annual Black River Astro Picnic date. Please come on out at 4pm and share some food and friendship with your fellow members.
Hot dogs & Chips will be provided. Please bring a covered dish to share. If you have some swap & shop items, bring them along, too.
The weather doesn’t look too promising but MIGHT…… clear off for a while.
Solar scopes will be on hand just in case.
If clear when darkness arrives we will look for Comets Elenin and Gerrard.
There will be two promising Iridium Flares tonight…
21:24 -1 22 degrees 342-NNW Iridium 40
23:26 -1 28 degrees 47-NE Iridium 20
The ISS will pass over about 22:30 at Minus 1st magnitude!
START: ELEVATION: DIRECTION:
22:29 10 degrees West
MAX: ELEVATION: DIRECTION:
22:31 15 degrees Southwest
END: ELEVATION: DIRECTION:
22:33 11 degrees South Southwest
So, new member or old, come on out to the Nielsen and join us for a fun filled afternoon and evening.
Hope to see you there…
Astronomically, John
