POSSIBLE MEETING CANCELLATION NOTICE

Fellow Black River Astro Members:

Our next Regular Monthly Meeting is scheduled to be held Wednesday at 7pm at The Carlisle Visitor's Center on Diagonal Road.

However The Lorain County Emergency Management Agency has just mailed me information stating that a Severe Weather Watch has been upgraded to a SEVERE WEATHER WARNING which will occur during the time of our meeting.

Please check the BLOG on this site before leaving for the meeting Wednesday evening in case conditions warrant a cancellation.

Here's the message:

The following information is from the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Cleveland.  Please remember this is a FORECAST based upon computer modeling.  It is subject to change at any time.

 

• This is a two Part Storm System (tonight and Tuesday Night/Wed)
  Tonight and Early Tuesday (around 4 inches), with a slight break in the precipitation early on Tuesday.  Mixed precipitation (rain/sleet/freezing rain) is forecast to occur overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.  Ice accumulations could be up to 1/4 inch. Heavy snow possible for Northwest Ohio (1 foot plus),  Winds will be mainly be from the northeast 10-20mph. They could shift to the south in the southern counties.  Winds near the lake shore could be locally higher Tuesday night and Wednesday morning (gusts 30 mph) with wind chills near zero.
• If the storm tracks farther southeast and movs up the Ohio River into the Pittsburg area, the heavy snow forecast for Detroit and Toledo would be in this area.  As of right now, the computer modeling does not show that happening - AGAIN, THIS IS ALWAYS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
• The Winter Storm Watch has been upgraded to a WINTER STORM WARNING, which will take effect at 10PM tonight through 7PM Wednesday night.  If info changes, we will advise you as soon as possible.
