The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.

ring OPEN 6/24/'22
We are OPEN for Public Observing for Friday June 24th, 2022 from 10:00-12:00 midnight at the Nielsen Observaory. For directions to the observatory, see the "Maps" tab on the home page of this website. Come see the beauty of the night sky through our powerful telescopes while our members discuss what you are seeing. Please park in the parking lot on the right and walk over to the observatory, as parking beside the building is restricted to members unloading telescopes and equipment and to those with mobility issues. Also, please watch for deer on the drive in. We hope you can join us!
