The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.

Public Observing OPEN for 6/3/‘22
we are OPEN for Public Observing tonight, Friday June 3, 2022 from 10:00-12:00 midnight at the Nielsen Observatory. For directions to the observatory, please see the home page of this website and click on the "Maps" tab. Join us to see the beauty of the night sky through our large telescopes. Our members will be glad to explain what you're seeing and to answer questions. PLease park in the parking lot on the right and walk over to the observatory; parking beside the building is restricted to members unloading equipment and those with mobility issues. Also, please watch for deer on the drive in. we hope you can join us!
