Public Observing OPEN 10/20/'17

We are OPEN for Public Observing Friday, October 20th from 8:00-10:00 PM. The Orinoid Meteor Shower peaks this weekend and may yield up to 20 meteors per hour and the rings of Saturn are unusually open this year, making for a beautiful sight. Please park in the parking lot on the right and walk over to the observatory, as parking beside the building is restricted to members unloading telescopes and equipment.
REMINDER:  There is a huge Halloween event at the Visitors Center down the road from the Equestrian Center where the observatory is. There will be a traffic jam around the Visitors Center with the police directing traffic. It is easier to approach the Equestrian Center from the west. Parsons Road to Nickel Plate Diagonal Road is one option. Go slow on Diagonal as it is easy to drive past the unlighted entrance to the Equestrian Center. See the home page of this website, and click on the "Maps" tab to see maps and get directions to the observatory. We hope you can join us!
