The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.

Public Observing OPEN for Friday 11/18/'16
We are OPENING the Nielsen Observatory to the public tonight, Friday November 18th from 8:00-10:00 PM. Come join us to view the night sky through powerful telescopes. Although today is warm, dress for cool weather please and watch for deer on the drive in. Please park in the parking lot on the right at the end of the driveway. Parking beside the building is restricted to members unloading telescopes and equipment. Please click on the "Maps"tab on this website for directions and a map to the observatory. We hope you can join us.
