We are OPENING the Nielsen Observatory to the public tonight from 9:00-11:00 PM. Come and see the planet Jupiter and other celestial objects through our powerful telescopes. Please park in the parking lot on the right and walk over to the observatory. Parking beside the building is restricted to members unloading telescopes and equipment. Please watch out for deer as you drive in. Check the "Maps" tab of this website if you need directions. Also dress warmly as it will cool off rapidly once the sun goes down. We hope you can join us!

The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.
