We are OPENING the Nielsen Observatory tonight, Friday August 7, 2015, and the public is invited! There are some clouds forecast, but we should be able to work around those. This is a great time to see the last quarter moon and beautiful, golden Saturn with its rings and several of her moons. Please see the "Maps" tab at the top of the home page of this website, for the location of the observatory. We will be open from 10:00-12:00 midnight. Please park in the parking lot on the left and walk over to the observatory. Parking beside the building is for members unloading telescopes and equipment only, please. We hope you can join us!

The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.
