Once again we are CANCELING public observing for tonight, Sat. 1/25/'14. While there will be some sun this afternoon, tonight is forecast to be cloudy, windy with snow showers and a low of around 1 degree. The wind chill is forecast to be between -15 and -20 degrees. This is simply not astronomy weather
The public will have another chance to view the heavens on Sunday Feb. 2nd at 6:30 at the Lorain County MetroParks Wellington Reservation. If it is clear BRAS members will walk the crowd to the observing mound to view the night sky. If it is cloudy, there will be a program inside. Please join us!
Our next general meeting, which is open to the public, will be Wednesday Feb. 5th at 7:00 at the Lorain County MetroParks Carlisle Visitors Center on Diagonal Road. Experienced observer John Reising will speak on the upcoming Mars opposition which will put Mars closer than usual to the Earth. Please join us as we discuss how to observe the Red Planet.
We also have public observing at the Nielsen Observatory on Friday Feb. 21st at 7:00. Please check this web site to see if the event is on, or if it is canceled due to weather.
