Public Observing tonight, Friday Sept. 27th is ON. It looks like it will be a beautiful, clear evening for astronomy, although it will be cool. Please dress for temperatures in the 50s. We have two 14 inch telescopes in the observatory, and other telescopes that will be set up outside. Please join us and observe the night sky through these powerful telescopes. We will start at 9:00 and run until 11:00. Please use the "MAPS" tab at the top of this web page to see the location of the observatory.
Also, don't forget INTERNATIONAL OBSERVE THE MOON NIGHT, Saturday October 12th. This event is being held in nations all around the world and will give people a chance to observe our nearest neighbor through our telescopes. We will start earlier, at 7:00 and end at 9:00PM. Please join us!
If you are unable to join us tonight, our next Public Observing session is NEXT FRIDAY, Oct.4th from 8:00-10:00. As always, please check this web site if the weather is iffy. Cancellations will be posted at least two hours prior to the start time.
The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.
