PUBLIC OBSERVING FOR SAT. 5/26 IS ON

The sky appears to be clearing. As usual, the predictions are all over the map with some sources saying clear at 9:00 PM becoming partly cloudy later, and others saying the opposite. Right now, the radar and satellite maps look pretty good, so we will open the observatory at 9:00. Please join us to see Saturn and Mars.
      Don't forget our Venus Transit Party on Tuesday June 5th at Lakeview Park in Lorain. We will start at 6:00 PM and go until sunset. Come see Venus cross the face of the sun through SAFE solar filter equipped telescopes. Remember, never look directly at the sun. Instant and permanent damage can result. Our telescopes will have professionally made solar filters attached. We will be on the West Boardwalk, down the stairs to the left of the Rose Cafe building. This event will not happen again for 105 years! Please join us.
