We have a big day scheduled for Sunday,August 16th. We have been invited back to Lakeview Park's annual SUN FESTIVAL. In the morning and throughout the day we will have Solar Viewing. We will be setup by the pavilion again this year. Look for the tent with the telescopes around it. (This is a rain or shine event)
We will be offering Hydrogen alpha views of the sun as well as white filtered light viewing. We will have displays setup, video presentations and we will even have a scope hooked into a videocast TV for those armchair astrobomers that like to do their viewing from their favorite recliner...
Then, in the evening, we will be having a star party as the sun sets over Lake Erie. There will be lots of photo ops, so be sure to bring a camera.
It's going to be HOT, HOT, HOT, so bring your bikinis and mankinis and take a quick dip when the weather gets too warm for your liking...
The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.
