The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.

Public Observing OPEN for Saturday July 6, 2024
We are OPEN for Public Observing tonight, Saturday July 6th, 2024 at the Nielsen Observatory from 10:00-12:00 midnight. There is no charge and no preregistration necessary. For directions to the observatory, please click on the "Maps" tab on the home page of this website. Please park in the parking lot on the right and walk over to the observatory as parking beside the buildings is restricted to people unloading telescopes and folks with mobility issues. Please watch for deer on the drive in. We hope you can join us.
