The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.

public Observing OPEN 3/15/'24
We are OPEN for Public Observing tonight Friday March 15, 2024 from 8:00-10:00 at the Nielsen Observatory. For directions to the observatory, please see our website blackriverastro.org and click on the "Maps" tab at the top. Note that the observatory is located at the Carlisle Reservation of the Lorain County Metro Parks, at the Equestrian Center which is down Diagonal Road from the Visitors Center, but NOT AT the Visitors Center.
Come join us to see the beauty of the night sky through our large telescopes. There is no charge or reservations required and all are welcome.
