Public Observing is OPEN for 9/15/'23

We are OPEN for Public Observing for Friday Sept. 15, 2023 from 9:00-11:00 PM at the Nielsen Observatory. Please click on the "Maps" tab on the home page of this website for directions to the observatory if you need them. Astrospheric, an astronomy weather app, lists the forecast for tonight as having a 2% cloud cover with seeing and transparency as above average. This may be the best forecast we have had this year, so we hope you can join us! We also have Solar Observing this Sunday the 17th at the Lorain County Metro Parks Sandy Ridge Reservation from 1:00-3:00PM. There may be some clouds and scattered showers in the area ,so use your best judgement about participating. It is our last solar session until next May, so it would be nice to get it in if the weather cooperates. Steve Schauer
