Public Observing OPEN 6/17/'23
We are OPEN for a public star party tonight, Saturday June 17, 2023 from 10:00-12:00 midnight. Our observatory is at the Lorin County Metro Parks Carlisle Reservation at the Equestrian Center on Diagonal Road. Please see the "MAPS" tab on the home page of this website for directions. Please join us to see the beauty of the night sky through our telescopes.
There are two solar eclipse opportunities coming up for Ohioans. In October of this year we will see a partial solar eclipse where 38% of the sun will be obscured by the moon. On April 8, 2024, we will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a total solar eclipse travel directly over us! To view these events, you will need solar glasses and we are selling them. The price is $1.00 each and we will sell them at our monthly General Meetings, at our twice monthly Public Observing sessions (including tonight) and at our monthly Solar Observing sessions we hold at the Sandy Ridge reservation.
