The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.

CELLED foe 5/19/'23
We have been forced to CANCEL Public Observing for Friday May 19, 2023 due to the forecast of cloud cover and rain tonight. Tomorrow night is our back-up date and it looks like it could be clear. Please check back tomorrow afternoon (Sat. 5/20) after 3:00 PM to see if we are able to observe.
If you would like to safely view the sun, our nearest star, we will have our solar telescopes at the Lorain County Metro Parks Sandy Ridge Reservation on Otten Road in North Ridgeville on Sunday 5/21 from1:00-3:00 PM. We hope you can join us!
