We have reluctantly CANCELLED Public Observing for Friday July 19,2019 , for several reasons. Firstly, all of northern Ohio is under a severe thunderstorm watch until at least 10:00 PM, which carries some liability issues. Secondly, the heat and humidity are brutal and dangerous, and the dew point is such that the telescopes and their optics would likely be covered a with dew. All those put together conspire to make observing unpleasant and ill-advised. Tomorrow night is our back up date, but conditions may not be much better, but check back in case things improve.

The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.
