The skies are supposed to be clear tonight, so we are opening the Nielsen Observatory to the public tonight starting at 8:00 and going until 10:00. Please join us to view the night sky through powerful telescopes. We suggest that you dress warmly as it will be in the 30s with a breeze. The observatory is at the Lorain County Metro Parks Equestrian Center on Diagonal Road in Carlisle Township.
Please go to our web site: www.BlackRiverAstro.org for a map and directions to the observatory. We hope you can join us.
Please also remember that there will be a Moonlight Walk at the Lorain County Metro Parks Wellington Reservation tomorrow night (4/6) at 8:30. Naturalist Becky Bode will lead a moderate walk to the observing mound where Kelly Ricks and other BRAS members will have telescopes set up for public use. Please note that while the walk is clear skies only, Kelly will present a program inside on the Spring constellations if the weather is cloudy or rainy.
