PUBLIC OBSERVING IS ON for Friday July 26, starting at 10:00 and lasting until midnight. There will be some cloud cover, and it will get heavier, but the rainy weather has cancelled so many of our observing sessions that we are going to try for tonight. We believe we can observe through the clear patches between the clouds, so please feel free to join us.
If you are unable to attend tonight, our next public observing is Friday August 9th from 10:00-midnight. We also have solar observing on Sunday August 11th from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Lorain County Metro Parks Sandy Ridge reservation. Come and see our very active sun through safe solar filters.
Our next General Meeting is Wednesday August 7th at 7:00 PM at the LCMP Carlisle Visitors Center. The public is welcome. Our program will be Dave Lengyel speaking on doing observing in Death Valley.
The purpose of this forum is to provide a place for members of The Black River Astronomical Society to blog, discuss upcoming meetings, cancel meeting, advertise their intent to go to the Nielson, etc. The Black River Astronomical Society has been bringing astronomy to, and serving Lorain County residents continuously since 1949.
